Crystalens

The Crystalens accommodating intraocular lens (IOL) is available for patients having cataract surgery. For the past 30 years, ophthalmologists have treated cataracts by replacing the natural cloudy lens with an artificial lens. The majority of patients after traditional cataract surgery still require glasses for reading. That is because all previously available IOLs were stationary and did not adjust to focus or accommodate.

A Deeper Glance

Crystalens Technology available through Chu Vision Institute

Crystalens works like the eye's natural lens to allow most patients to see ../images that are near (inside 16 inches), intermediate (between 16 and 36 inches) and distant (36 inches and beyond), without glasses for the majority of the time.

Crystalens is engineered with a hinge designed to allow the optic, or part of the IOL that you see through, to move back and forth as you constantly focus on ../images around you.

To see if you are a candidate for Crystalens, please contact Chu Vision Institute to schedule a consultation.
